We talk in depth about eye liners and which one to choose based on your requirement, here.
From a party look to bridal makeup, adding falsies dramatically transforms your look, adding more character to the look, which is why here we are trying to guide you with top tips that would make picking up false eyelashes easier.
Why Choose False Eyelashes?
While Mascara does enhance the look and volume of your existing eyelashes, which we discuss in the blogpost here, we wanted to talk about the less talk about falsies here.
There are different types off fake eyelashes that are designed to serve each purpose. Here are a few types of lashes for you to pick and choose from.
Mink lashes
As the name suggest, Mink lashes are made from soft mink hair. They are smooth and give a fluffy eyelash look. They are most suitable for folks with thin lashes or brittle lashes, since they gel up right with your original lashes owing to their own thinness. Since these lashes come with tapered ends, they would hold eyelash curling and would set your look to perfection. They are also absolutely light and comfortable to wear so much so that you might forget that you have been wearing them. They also come up with matte finish which will make your lashes look thicker.
On the downside however, they are not entirely water resistant hence for emotional ones out there, your waterworks might affect them. Since they are made of animal fur, they might not be ideal for people who are extremely sensitive to allergic reactions. The matte finish of these eyelashes and tapered ends could also make them look like falsies. So if you are looking for a natural look where nobody can tell that you are wearing falsies, probably this isn’t for you.
We recommend Leipple False Professional which comes up with 8 pairs reusable 8D Mink Lashes. These are natural and waterproof thick fluffy fake Faux Mink Eyelashes that are soft, fluffy and hand made. The vivid and shiny lashes have a long life span. These are also made cruelty-free. These can also be used multiple times and are easier to apply and remove and are also suitable to curl.
Silk Lashes
The name is a dead giveaway folks. These lashes are made from silkworm cocoons. These are preferred when you wish for a thicker and glossier eyelash look. The best part of these type of eyelashes is their durability. They stay for long hours and are suitable for even harsher conditions such as extreme heat and humidity. One of the advantages of choosing these lash extensions are that they are hypoallergenic since they are only made from the cocoon of silkworms and hence would not cause any allergies or irritation. These type of lashes also look natural as compared to their counterparts since they have a semi-gloss finish and would merge with your natural eyelashes.
The downside of using these lashes is that they do not go with thin lashes. If you have thin lashes, using these falsies would make them stand out since they are distinctly thicker. Another downside is that since these lashes are not tapered at the end like mink lashes, they don’t necessarily do a good job in retaining a curling effect.
We recommend Beauty Forever Luxe Silk Fibre 3D Eyelashes which are lightweight and reusable. We particularly like this product since it is suitable to those of you who wear contact lenses as well. This is a handmade product with high quality 3D lashes that are fluffy and would suit for a bold and enticing look.
How to apply Eye lash extensions?
Applying falsies is an art in itself. However shoddily placed eyelashes would be inconvenient to carry. Below is a step-to-step guide for those of you who want to be more comfortable in applying falsies.
- Check the length of the eyelash strip by placing it over your closed eye lid. Cut off the excess of the eyelash strip to ensure it stays true to your own eyelid size.
- Apply the given glue on the strip of these eyelashes and let it dry for 15-20 seconds. Be mindful of not getting excessive in applying the glue. Just take a pinch of it, enough to hold it in place.
- Take a mirror and angle it further below your chin. Apply the strip on your upper lash line while looking downwards at the mirror as it gives you a better angle. You can use a tweezer to apply your false eyelash in place. Adjust the placement of the eyelash so that it comfortably sits right on top of your original lash line.
- Now that the main part of it is done, we try to make it look more natural that it merges with your eyelashes. Use a dark eyeliner and run it along the course of your lash line, on top of the applied falsie so that it would not be visible.
- Repeat the same steps along the other eye as well.
- Congratulations, you are now a proud owner of beautiful long eyelashes. Flutter away!
While falsies could be your trusted companions, one of the other options to have a beautiful set of eyelashes through makeup is to resort to mascara. We talk about them at length and review some of our favorite products here.
