Getting back to real world after a near three year pause is difficult. As workplaces and colleges re-open, it is getting challenging to go back to our once beloved make-up routines. Here are a few top make-up looks that would perfect your make-up look under five minutes.
Perfect your Wing
If there is one thing that Tik-Tok videos taught us recently, it is the ingenious ways to use your make-up products. For a perfect elongated cat-like eyes, you do not need to always use a pencil or liquid eye-liner. Using a matte shadow instead brings the softness in the look. Apply Chanel Les 4 ombres in Clair obscur with a damp stiff angle brush to perfect your eye-liner. The trick is to run your brush under tap water, before picking up your favorite shade and apply this across the eye like you would apply a regular eye-liner. The paste like consistency would make it a smooth stroke, acting as a good replacement to your liquid eye-liner.
Fluffy brows
When you want to go minimal on the make-up and yet want to play up the cool, chic and modern look, fluffy brows is the way to go. Brush your brows up by using a brush, fill in the gaps and add some volume by using L’oreal Paris Brow artist eyebrow gel. This product helps you define your brows by filling up the gaps. It also gives your brows a natural look, with a defined shape. The trick is to keep the front of the brows fluffy and not too thick, while taking the brush up all the way up to the arch and use it at the place that needs definition the most.
To draw further attention to your eyes, use a pop of color to use as a highlighter on the eye-lid using Charlotte Tilbury’s Beauty light wand. Highlight the corner of the eyes would making your eyes look farther apart; and seal this look by adding an eye-liner to the water line.
Monochromatic makeup
Monochromatic makeup is the perfect solution for days where you feel lazy to do your make-up but still want to look effortless. The beauty of this look is how dynamic it can be. Choose muted brown to be ready for work, or choose a pop of color like orange to be ready for a Saturday night party.
If you want to be ready for a look that is apt for a typical work day as well as for drinks after work, go for monochrome make-up. Our personal favorite is Zendaya’s rose monochrome look.
We love this look that Zendaya wore for Louis Vuitton fashion week Paris because it is easy to recreate and makes you look stunning. We recommend COVERGIRL – TruNaked Eyeshadow Pallete 815 Roses Purple. To start with the eye-shadow, apply with lighter strokes on the brow bone and let the hues darken as they move towards down, like that of a smoky eye. To buff any lines, use a blending blush to smooth in the look. Finish this look with a rose blush and L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Intense Volume Matte188 Rose Activist lipstick.
Glowy Skin
This 90s style make-up has made a comeback and seems to be here to stay. We suggest to start applying a primer on your skin first with a foundation brush, to ensure that the glow enhances when a highlighter is used later. Try Revlon’s SkinLights Face Glow illuminating primer that makes the glow look like it is coming from within.
For a lit-from within look, apply Makeup forever foundation next, although our tip is to use foundation much like a concealer, in and around T-Zone only, to retain the highlights that have been done in the previous step. Dab and blend the foundation, to get a more matte look and to decrease the shine that your skin got from using the primer.
Dab your skin with setting powder to ensure your blush doesn’t stick to your primer. Add a powder highlight to your cheekbones, nose and cupid’s bow, and apply a lip balm to finish this look.
Red lips
As fellow Swifties, this iconic look will always be one of our most favorites, especially on days we want to look stunning without much effort. Although this look sounds fairly simple, we would recommend a lip mask that perfects this look and also takes care of your lips. Laneige’s lip sleeping mask worked wonders for us with its thick and buttery formula is our go to product.
Maybelline’s red hot liquid lipstick is our personal favorite that would help you finish this look. A few tips to perfect this look is to prep your complexion, to ensure red spots, darkness or noticeable irregularities of your skin are concealed using a concealer.
Play with your style, add a bold cat-eye or go for a minimalist look, but be rest assured that the bold lips would be the show stopper, for sure.
